What I’m learning, what I have learned, and what I want to learn.
Why am I in Multimedia Production? The answer is because of my love for media in general. I am experienced in writing, designing, photography, video, maybe even a bit of audio. This course is all that I love and more.
After reviewing blogs and websites from previous students in the course Multimedia Production, I’ve come to the conclusion that journalism is so broad and that it is very easy to become a journalist about anything with anything.
In this course, I anticipate learning an expansive amount of skills. Due to the immense nature of journalism, we will be learning anything from photography skills to graphic design skills. We will learn how to execute our own style and our own way of journalism. We will discover what interests us and how we can use that to our benefit in our media career.
There is an extensive amount of excitement that I am feeling for this course. Throughout my academic career, I’ve been involved in media related projects. This course is exactly what I have been waiting for through the long lecture hours and unrelated general education courses.
I would like to potentially report on culture differences between the places I have traveled. I am fortunate enough to be able to say I have traveled out of the country and experienced different societies. However, I believe there is so much for me to learn when is comes to the way of life of the places I have been.
I want to research things from culinary trends to political stances from countries. These countries will mostly include the United States and China because I have traveled between the two throughout the years. However, I want to explore the culture in Spain and El Salvador knowing that those our countries I will possibly travel to in the future.

I will ask questions like how are these cultures different or similar? Comparing and contrasting these societies will create relationships that I have not considered or discovered before.
I believe that a good way to avoid bias resources would be to interview international students here at the university. This way, I can meet new people and gain an accurate depiction of diverse cultural experiences.
For my photography project, I can see my photo taking process as finding culturally interesting murals, foods, art, or people around Laramie, Wyoming. This way I can capture what I am trying to learn and visually understand why it is important.
This course is going to allow me to explore cultural differences and practice types of media that I want to work in during my professional career. This semester is about creating a brand for myself. I hope that the brand I create focuses on others and their way of life. I want my focal point to be life and why life is so beautiful no matter the way it is lived.
